Jack Frost was MIA

Spring (and all of its allergen wonders) is right around the corner...
Its like we skipped right over Winter this year.  No ice, no snow - not that Louisiana gets it often enough to "miss" it - but it was actually hot!   The majority of the season was in the high 60's or above.  And don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of cold weather, by far, but I know its necessary.  Especially if you live in a Mosquito haven like Louisiana.

Plus, I only got to wear my boots a few times.  That's what is most upsetting...

Soon there will be berries to pick.

And the Wisteria are beginning to bloom.

My yard is a Jungle of sorts.

The Thistle is nearly waist high.  Once the rain stops Ill have to mow them down.

And these little guys are beginning to come out of their hiding places.
(Not good news if your like me and have a phobia of them.  I have VERY nearly burned down my house because I found one in the kitchen window sill while I was cooking!  ICKY!)

Crawfish, Crayfish, Mudbugs, Bait, or whatever you call them in your part of the world, live here.

(I call them Dinner...  YUM!)

What else is going on with me?
  • I opened an Etsy store.
  • I added a FREE Digi Stamps page to this blog.
  • I ordered an HD camera so that when I do my art videos, you can actually SEE what I'm doing!
  • I'm working on a new video tutorial for DIY art supplies (to be filmed when the new camera gets in).
  • I ordered a few new art supplies to try out.
  • I made my own soap - FUN, FUN, FUN!
  • I'm planning a trip to Dallas to visit my mom! (There will be LOTS of pictures to share!)

So that's all for now, Ill be back in a few weeks, when I'm off work, to share some stuff Ive been doing!

UPDATE ON THE THISTLE 3/12/2012:

 The Wisteria has bloomed.

The Thistle buds have opened and there are busy little bees everywhere.

And this is what pollen looks like in the South.  (We are very sneezy people this time of year.)
P.S - It rained all day yesterday, so this is only one days accumulation of pollen!  UGH!
